Holy Trinity Orthodox Church of Santa Fe was established in 1996 by a small group of newly chrismated Orthodox Christians led by Father John Bethancourt. They were embraced and nourished in the faith by the Antiochian Archdiocese of North America, which in turn is a jurisdiction of the Antiochian Patriarchate, one of the ancient Christian churches and after two millennia still headquartered in Damascus, Syria.
Inside the rhythms of the Church year it is Worship, Fellowship, and Service that serve as our everyday rule
Our temple was built a decade ago in a unique “Southwestern Byzantine” style. Since then, iconographers have come to adorn its dome and ceilings; most recently a talented woodworker has erected a beautiful new iconostasis carved by hand over a period of several years.
Our parish consists of all ages, life stages, and backgrounds. We strive to make it a place where the elderly are honored, families built and supported, and children brought up in the faith.
In the spring of 2020, Fr. John announced his upcoming retirement and his successor, Fr. Jesse Robinson, who will co-pastor alongside Fr. John until the latter’s full retirement in the summer of 2021.
We heartily welcome guests to our services and meals. (Indeed, many of us were once guests in Orthodox services!) Please feel welcome to start here, on our website, where we hope to make but an introduction to our faith and life together.
